December 2024 Gazette

Our December 2024 issue is out now, and full of great news and features from across the island.

We are delighted to announce that the winner of our Christmas Cover Competition is Lilian Webb from the parish of Celbridge and Straffan with Newcastle-Lyons (Dublin and Glendalough). See Lilian’s image on our cover, and admire some of the other wonderful contributions from readers around the island in our double-page competition feature.

Read thoughtful and inspiring Advent messages from the Archbishop of Armagh and the Archbishop of Dublin, exclusive to the Gazette.

Heritage and history are a focus this month, with features on tours of St Patrick’s Cathedral Dublin, and a look at a very historic townhouse in Malta that was home to none other than Queen Elizabeth II in the 1940s.

Christmas is a time for giving; we hear from Geoff Scargill on the work of Protestant Aid, and give some insight into the Christian Aid Christmas Appeal for those in need in South Sudan.

With entertaining and thought-provoking Opinion pieces, a new Devotional from Rev’d Johnny Lowden (Derry and Raphoe), and Diocesan Focus from Armagh – as well as our usual features such as Food, Gardening, News, and Liturgical Notes – we have plenty to keep you entertained this festive season.

All this and more in your December 2024 Gazette!
