April 2023 Gazette

The Easter issue of the Gazette is out now and full of great features and news.

In Holy Week, and in his monthly column, Stephen Farrell extols the great beauty and wonder of the Great Vigil of Easter.

The return of the common cup is greeted with enthusiasm by Paul Arbuthnot, who argues that we should value and cherish the symbolism offered by the common cup, which has its roots in the gospels.

In education news, Andy Hay, curate of St Finnian’s, draws on his experience as a teacher to explore the treatment of SEN children in Northern Irish schools, and why, in his opinion, suspension as a disciplinary action, does not work.

Elsewhere, we learn about the fantastic work of our young leaders across the island, and how many of them have benefitted from the Young Leaders in Ministry Fund.

We also learn about the work of Fields of Life in Luwero, Uganda, following a visit from a team from Christ Church parish Lisburn, to work in St Apollo school.

Diocesan Focus comes from Meath and Kildare, and there are all the usual features, including Liturgical Notes, Clergy News and Mother’s Union.
All this and much more, in your April Gazette.
